We can promote education, awareness, empowerment, and activism to youth so that we can become outstanding citizens. We can set an example for other cities on serving the youth, but we can still partner with other cities because making outstanding citizens should not be limited by city borders. I believe with my ideas, experience, knowledge, and skills, I will fulfill the roles of a member with great care, execution, and quality. Before, I have been a member of CLUB RAP/Peace Club at Janson Elementary and Science Olympiad at Muscatel Middle School. Currently, I am also an active member in SAVE (Students Advocating Voter Empowerment), Ecology Club, GATE, CSF (California Scholarship Federation), and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). Additionally, I have served on the committee before so I can bring the experience to jumpstart the next committee. Together, we can create outstanding citizens that this world really needs so that there can be a better tomorrow. I have the opportunity to make a difference in making Rosemead a better community. I see those who are members of the Youth Committee as leaders. From experience, I have learned that great leaders are those who lead by setting examples. Thus, I feel that I am highly qualified to be a member of the Youth Committee. served for Rosemead High School Associated Student Body for two years as the class of 2011 treasurer. I managed the school's account, making sure that our spending is within budget. This is a big responsibility because if our spending exceeds our budget, we would be in debt. To further strengthen my leadership and communication skills, I serve as a three year member of San Gabriel Valley Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention Youth Committee for,the Asian Pacific Family Center. My duties are to spread awareness of the effects of drug usage and promote drug free activities for youths around the San Gabriel Valley. Nevertheless, I am a hardworking girl who never gives up on anything, especially education. I am ranked on top of my class as number one. I spend endless nights working on my assignments because I do not take education for granted. My attitude is indifferent when I get an opportunity to help my community. If I am chosen to serve as a member of the Youth Committee, I will uphold my position to the best of my ability. Among my many responsibilities from this position, I am aware that my main objective is to spread awareness of community activities to encourage peer participation.
