ROSEMEAD BUILDING REHABILITATION
APPEALS BOARD
APRIL 27, 2004
The regular meeting of the Rosemead Building Rehabilitation Appeals Board was called to order
by Chairman Clark at 7:03 p.m. in the Conference Room of City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Boardmember Clark.
The Invocation was delivered by Vice-Chairman Imperial.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS:
Present: Boardmembers Alarcon, Vasquez,Taylor, Vice-Chairman Imperial and
Chairman Clark
Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: NONE
1. ADMINISTRATION OF OATH
The Board Secretary administered the oath to all persons wishing to address the Board.
H. HEARINGS
Commissioner Clark stated that Planning Commissioner Duc Loi was present to assist
with any translation required for this hearing. Vice-Chairman Imperial thanked Commissioner
Loi for taking the time to come tonight.
A. 4202 WAR AVENUE
The subject property consists of an owner-occupied single-family residence with an
unpermitted addition between the dwelling and the garage. The property is zoned R-1. The case
was initiated in October 2003, and full compliance has not been achieved in over six months.
The City Building Official recommends that the Board find the property substandard and
order all substandard conditions be removed and/or corrected by June 1, 2004. However, if the
required permits and approvals are obtained, and sufficient progress is achieved by June 1, 2004,
the abatement date may be extended to July 1, 2004.
Mr. Huan Duc Ong and Ms. Ha So Lam of 4204 Ivar Avenue, Rosemead, were present.
Also present was the owner's daughter to assist them with translation.

After discussions between Mr. Loi and the owners, it was determined that the owners
understood and agreed with the recommendation.
MOTION BY COMMISSIONER ALARCON, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER
VASQUEZ that the Board find the property substandard and order all substandard conditions be
removed and/or corrected by June 1, 2004. However, if the required permits and approvals are
obtained, and sufficient progress is achieved by June 1, 2004, the abatement date maybe
extended to July 1, 2004. Vote resulted:

The Chairman declared said motion duly carried and so ordered.
