ROSEMEAD BUILDING REHABILITATION
APPEALS BOARD
JULY 27, 2004
The regular meeting of the Rosemead Building Rehabilitation Appeals Board was called to order
by Chairman Clark at 7:20 p.m. in the Conference Room of City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Boardmember Taylor.
The Invocation was delivered by Vice-Chairman Imperial.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS:
Present: Boardmembers Alarcon, Vasquez,Taylor, Vice-Chairman Imperial and
Chairman Clark
Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MARCH 23, 2004 -REGULAR MEETING
Commissioner Taylor requested that the Minutes of the regular meeting of March 23,
2004, be deferred for inclusion of motion, second and vote count that was omitted from the
Approval of Minutes from the January 27, 2004 meeting. There being no objection, the Minutes
of March 23, 2004 will be deferred for corrections.
1. ADMINISTRATION OF OATH
The Board Secretary administered the oath to all persons wishing to address the Board.
H. HEARINGS
A. 9147 DE ADALENA
The subject property consists of an owner-occupied single-family residence with a garage
conversion and several unpermitted additions and alterations. The property is zoned R-1. The
case was initiated in January 2004, and compliance has not been achieved in over six months.
To date, no progress has been achieved. No inspection has been requested, no plans have
been submitted, and no permits have been obtained. A Notice of Hearing was mailed and posted
on the property on July 12, 2004. All interested parties have been notified.
The City Building Official recommends that the Board find the property substandard and
order all substandard conditions and Building Code Violations be removed and/or corrected by
September 1, 2004. However, if sufficient progress is achieved by September 1, 2004, the
abatement date may be extended to October 1, 2004.
There was no one present representing the subject property.
James Guerra, Deputy Building Official, reported that the owner was contacted today and
he agrees to all conditions.
MOTION BY BOARDMEMBER TAYLOR, SECOND BY VICE-CHAIRMAN
IMPERIAL that the Board find the property substandard and order all substandard conditions
and Building Code violations be removed and/or corrected by September 1, 2004. However, if
sufficient progress is achieved by September 1, 2004, the abatement date may be extended to
October 1, 2004. Vote resulted:

The Chairman declared said motion duly carried and so ordered.

No action was required on the aforementioned items.

There being no further action to be taken at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 7:22
p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for August 24, 2004, at 7:00 p.m.
