RE: CHANGE ORDER FOR ROSEMEAD POOL RE-PIPING PROJECT
The Contractor for the Re-piping Project at Rosemead Pool, California Commercial Pools is
nearing completion. The project was budgeted at $ 387,000.00 and "California Commercial
Pool's" bid was $158,400.00.
As part of the re-piping project, the Contractor cut and removed large sections of the pool bottom
to install the new water lines. When he goes through and patches those areas, they will be
functional, but they will look like patches since it will be new plaster up against the old.
As part of the next year's budget, staff was going to propose that we replaster Rosemead Pool in
the Fall, since it was last replastered in 1982/83. However, the cost of the Re-Piping project was
so low that it would be prudent to do it at this time. Toward that end, staff requested that the
Contractor provide us with a cost to replaster the pool. Attached is a Change Order for this work,
in the amount of $ 37,256.00. Attached is Exhibit "1", which is a cost breakdown as to what cost
the Agency has incurred, which includes the Change Order 195,656.00) and the amount of
funds remain 191,344.00).
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency approve the Change Order for
Replastering the pool.
