l 1. RESOLUTION NO. 01-08 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
Recommendation: Approve Resolution No. 01-08, for payment of
Agency expenditures.
2. DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL FOR A MC DONALD'S RESTAURANT
WITH INDOOR PLAYPLACE TO BE LOCATED AT 8548 E. VALLEY
BOULEVARD
A request by McDonald's Corporation to construct a one-story 3,567
square foot restaurant with a drive-through and indoor playplace to be
located at the southwest corner of Valley Boulevard and Walnut Grove
Q Avenue, 8548 Valley Boulevard.
LtiL v~ ~S Recommendation: That the Agency make a finding of conformity with
the Redevelopment Plan for Project Area No. 2; and that the Agency
concur with the conceptual design of the project.
3. AUTHORIZATION TO CONTRACT WITH SLADDEN
ENGINEERING FOR SOILS ENGINEERING SERVICES - GARVEY
COMMUNITY CENTER & SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT
The building specification approved by the Redevelopment Agency
require inspection of the excavation and re-compaction of the soils. The
contract provides for time and materials for engineering services. The
estimated cost of the services is approximately $27,000.
1 Recommendation:. Approve the contract with Sladden Engineering.
4. APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS FOR ROSEMEAD POOL
RE-PIPING PROJECT
The contractor has submitted three additional Change Orders. Change
Order #2 is to abandon, fill and re-tile the four pool lights in the baby
pool; Change Order #3 was required by the Health Department Inspector
to add four bottom return lines to the large pool and three additional
skimmers to the small pool; and Change Order #4 consists of adding a
new water line to the small pool, re-secure the grab rails around the pool,
remove the pool decking and re-pour pool deck area after necessary
foundation work is completed.
Recommendation: Approve Change Order Numbers 2, 3, & 4 , along
I Gwith the Contractor's request for an additional thirty (30) days.
5. CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSAL FROM JR PROPERTIES FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF TEMPLE CITY
BOULEVARD AND VALLEY BOULEVARD AS A FOOD 4 LESS
SHOPPING CENTER
Kosmont Partners has prepared for JR Properties, a proforma of the
essential economic costs of the proposed grocery-anchored retail center at
the above location.
