CC - Item 7D - Rosemead and Garvey Aquatic Centers Surplus PropertyROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: JEFF ALLRED, CITY MANAGER q� DATE: NOVEMBER 9, 2010 SUBJECT: ROSEMEAD AND GARVEY AQUATIC CENTERS SURPLUS PROPERTY SUMMARY City Council approved the renovation of Rosemead Park and Garvey Park Aquatic Centers in the Fiscal Year 2010 -11 Capital Improvement Program. As the sites are prepared for demolition, public works crews have removed a variety of materials for recycling or re -use at other facilities. The City of Monterey Park has also submitted a request for donation of some items. The following items have been identified as potential surplus property as they cannot be used in the proposed facilities at Rosemead and Garvey Pools: Item Date of Purchase Cost at Purchase Vapor Recovery System 2 2005 & 2007 $900.00 Bulk Chlorine Tanks 2 2004 & 2007 $300.00 Bulk Acid Tanks 2 2004 -05 $300.00 Filter unit 1989 Unknown Filter Head 2008 Unknown Shower Heaters 2 2005 -06 $15,000.00 Lane lines 2007 -08 $4,060.00 Staff Recommendation Staff recommends that City Council deem the above items surplus for sale or other disposition. PUBLIC NOTICE PROCESS This item has been noticed through the regular agenda notification process FISCAL IMPACT: There would be no cost associated with declaring the above referenced equipment surplus, but some revenup -could be generated from their sale to an interested party if one is found. Unfortunately, we would be unable to take larger items because of City policies.
