Minutes of the REGULAR YOUTH COMMITTEE MEETING May 18, 2011 The regular meeting of the Rosemead Youth Committee was called to order by Chair Loc at the Rosemead City Hall Council Chambers
located at 8838 E. Valley Blvd., Rosemead, California, at 6:11 p.m. FLAG SALUTE: Committee Member Peña OFFICIALS PRESENT: Chair Loc, Vice-chair Auyeung, Committee Members Mai, and Peña
Absent: Committee Member Le 1. PUBLIC COMMENT FROM AUDIENCE None. 2. CONSENT CALENDAR A) Minutes Vice-chair Auyeung made a motion, seconded by Committee Member Mai, to receive the May18,
minutes into the record. Vote Resulted in: Yes: Loc, Auyeung, Mai, Peña No: None Abstain: None Absent: Le 3. MATTERS FROM STAFF A) Upcoming Events of Interest 1) 4th of July parade and
carnival will start at its usual time while the entertainment and food vending will begin at 5:00 p.m. The City is looking for volunteers to help carry the large parade balloons. 2)
Rosemead Queen will be announced at the May 24th Council Meeting. 3) Teen Summit is scheduled for Saturday, May 22 in South Gate. Interested committee members need to notify Stephanie.
4) Munch for the Memorial 2 is scheduled for May 22, 12:00 – 8:00 p.m., and May 23, 12:00 – 6:00 p.m., at UFC Gym. 4. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION-COMMITTEE MEMBERS A) Teen Volunteer Program
Committee members discussed program details and program promotion. Chair Loc requested a list of volunteer opportunities be put on the City website.
B) Clubs at the YMCA and Hazing Vice-chair Auyeung reported that the clubs have been disassembled and there is no longer an issue. C) Location of Next Meeting Committee Member Peña made
a motion, seconded by Chair Loc, to have the next and final meeting on June 8, 2011 in the City Hall Council Chamber, 8838 E. Valley Blvd. at 6:00 p.m. Vote Resulted in: Yes: Loc, Mai,
