VI. MATTERS FROM OFFICIALS
A. COMMERCIAL TRANSFER FEE FOR BUSINESS DEFERRED TO NEXT
MEETING.
B. ALLEYWAY IMPROVEMENT - BETWEEN VALLEY & STEELE
Jack Nugent, 9419 E. Steele, inquired if there was any-
way that this alleyway could be improved since the Council did
not vote 4/5 at the last meeting.
Frank G. Tripepi, City Manager, stated that since the request
did not receive 4/5 vote at the last meeting, he can still circu-
late a petition with 607o of the owners fronting on that particular
alleyway and at that time the Council does not need 4/5 majority
vote only a simple majority vote.

Councilman Cichy stated that he had gone over a digest of
recent Zoning cases and requested that the City Attorney look
them over and respond to the Council with a simple memorandum
as to how they may effect the City of Rosemead.
Councilman Cichy requested that Mr. Hunter be chairman of
the Entry Signs to the City.
There being no objection, it was so ordered.
Robert Dickey, Assistant Manager, stated that on December
26, 1978 the Council authorized staff to seek bids for the
selected electrical services within Underground Utility District
#2, but there were no bids presented at the bid opening date,
January 8, 1979. Therefore, it is requested that the bids be
noticed again for a bid opening on January 22, 1979.
MOTION BY COUNCILMAN HUNTER, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN TURY
that authorization to advertise for bids for construction of
underground Electrical & Telephone services for Underground
Utility District #2 be approved. Vote resulted:

The Council Meeting was adjourned to the next regular
Meeting on January 23, 1979 at 8:00 p. m.
