1. PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER SALE OF AGENCY OWNED PROPERTY
OF 8.2 ACRES OF THE S/W CORNER OF SAN GABRIEL AND GARVEY
(DISPOSITION & DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT)
Mayor Taylor stated that the joint hearing of the City
Council and the Redevelopment Agency was open and inquired
if anyone in the audience would care to speak regarding the
sale of this property and requested them to be'sworn in.
The City Clerk swore them in.
Mr. Lowell O'Connor, representing O'Connor & Hutsell,
381 Avenida Andorra, Cathedral City, spoke regarding the
purchase of the property for the development of a K-Mart
store and stated that there had been some suggested changes
that had just come up and which they have not been able to
go over at this time, and there has also been a major consi-
deration with the tenant. K-Mart has very recently made a
concession to expand the smaller stores from 55,000 sq. ft.
to 71,600 sq. ft., and in order to do that, restrictions have
had to be investiaged, the architect has had to redraw the
site plans and have been submitted back to Troy and probably
will be a week or two before a decision is made by them.
Juan Nunez, 2704 Del Mar, Rosemead inquired if this means
that there would be an extension of time required.
Mayor Taylor stated that the negotiations are not to
find a tenant or buyer as that has been done, but only to
work out the size of the building.
