CC - 06-09-77 - Special MeetingCITY OF ROSEMEAD D:1$E -,2R-7 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING1`r OF THE ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL JUNE 9, 1977 The Special Meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to order by Mayor Cichy in the Conference Room of the Rosemead City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Blvd., at 8:00 p. m. Notices were posted. ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: PRESENT: Councilmen Hunter, Imperial, Taylor and . Mayor Cichy ABSENT: Councilwoman Trujillo EX-OFFICIOS: Dilkes, Tripepi, Dickey, Foutz, Fleischman and Poochigian The Pledge was led by Councilman Hunter The Invocation was delivered by Mr. Foutz, City Treasurer. ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED & POSSIBLE ACTION BY COUNCIL 1. Resolution #77-29 was presented for adoption, RESOLUTION NO. 77-29 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ALLOWING CERTAIN CLAIMS & DEMANDS IN.THE SUM OF $134,461.98 NUMBERED 24212 THROUGH 24326 INCLUSIVELY. MOTION BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN HUNTER that Resolution No. 77-29 be adopted, Vote resulted: AYES: Councilmen Hunter, Imperial and Mayor Cichy NAYES: Councilman Taylor ABSENT: Councilwoman Trujillo Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. Councilman Taylor requested that the record show that his "no" vote was directed to check no. 24264, 65, 67 & 68. 2. Resolution #,77-30 was presented for adoption. RESOLUTION NO. 77-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER STREET LIGHTING IMPROVE- MENT AND APPOINTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATION THERETO. MOTION BY COUNCILMAN TAYLOR, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN HUNTER that Resolution No. 77-30 and that a Hearing be set for July 12, 1977 at 8:00 p. m. Vote resulted: UPON ROLL CALL ALL COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT VOTED AYE. The Mayor declared said.motion duly carried and so ordered.. r 1 SCM - 1 6-9-77 0 Councilman Hunter presented a letter stating that he would be out of town from June 12th through June 16th and that he had made these committments assuming that there would not be a quorum for the next council meeting even if he were in town. Mayor Cichy requested a recess at 8:10 for an executive session. The Council reconvened at 8:55 p. m. A. Litigation - Paul Bezaire & Mary Maloof MOTION BY COUNCILMAN HUNTER, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL that litigation be pursued and take it to trial. Vote resulted: AYES: Councilmen Hunter, Imperial and Mayor Cichy NAYES: None ABSTAINED: Councilman Taylor ABSENT: Councilwoman Trujillo Whereupon the Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. B. Outdoor Display Ordinance Clarification was requested by the Council. MOTION BY COUNCILMAN HUNTER, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL that the City Attorney be directed to prepare a clarifying ordinance and present it to the Planning Commis- sion. Vote resulted'. UPON ROLL CALL ALL COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT VOTED AYE. The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. Outdoor storage and display on public steets and side- walks is to be prohibited.
