STUDIO CITY (CBS) — In an effort to curb the cat population in the Llt
Los Angeles -area, Found Animals is offering residents $5 for each cat
brought in to be spayed or neutered.
Amiee Gillbreath of Found Animals visited the KCAL9 studios
Wednesday to talk about the program.
Found Animals is a 501(c) (3) private operating foundation led by
business and medical experts committed to decreasing the use of
euthanasia in shelters.
Cats are at the highest risk of being killed in shelters. Roughly 87,000
cats enter Los Angeles area shelters every year and 65,000 (almost

75 o of them are ultimately euthanized. Through spay /neuter, we will
be reducing the number of cats entering Los Angeles shelters and less
= will be killed due to lack of space.

Fernando Valley residents

South Los Angeles (zip codes 90003 and 90037) can bring cats to the
Spay 4 LA mobile clinics. South Los Angeles residents may contact
Spay 4 LA at 1- 888 - SPAY -4 -LA (772- 9452).
These areas have the highest shelter intake in Los Angeles County.
