MINUTES OF THE ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL
ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA
SEPTEMBER 30,1975
1. CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 p.m.
An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Rosemead City Council was held
in the Council Chambers of the Rosemead City [fall, 6838 E. Valley
Boulevard, Rosemead, California and called to order by Mayor Paul
Taylor at 7:30 p.m.
The Pledge was led by Councilman Gary Taylor
The Invocation was delivered by Asst. City Manager Durham
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Andersen, Cichy, G. Taylor, P. Taylor, Trujillo
Absent: None
Ex officio: Davenport, Dorsey, Durham, Fleischman
Assistant City Manager Durham requested that the Council consider
a non-agenda item at this time.. There were no objections..
CLOSURE OF STEELE STREET
Mr. Durham explained that although an Agreement with the County
will be executed regarding Joint Parking Facilities for the Library/
Community Center, the following Resolution is for the immediate
closure of Steele Street which will allow the General Contractor for
the Community Center to proceed.
RESOLUTION 75-63. CLOSURE OF STEELE STREET.
Attorney Dorsey read Resolution 75-63 in full.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD CLOSING TO
PUBLIC ACCESS A PORTION OF STEELE STREET.
It was moved by Mayor pro tem Trujillo, second by.Councilman Andersen
to adopt Resolution 75-63.
Roll Call Vote as follows:
AYES: Andersen, Cichy, Gv Taylor, P. Taylor, Trujillo
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
3: PUBLICFEARING:
FOR CONSIDERATION OF USE OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS FOR FY 1975/76
Mayor Taylor requested that anyone wishing to address the Council
should stand and be sworn.
City Clerk Davenport administered the Oath..
The Public Hearing was Opened at 7:40 p.m.
The following were made a part of the record:
1) Councilman Cichy presented a letter from Mrs. Doris Kauschin
which requests funds for Rosemead Students south of the
San Bernardino Freeway who need better bus transportation from
San Gabriel High School.
2) Mayor Taylor relayed a phone conversation request for funds
for a Rosemead Mini-Bus Service.
3) The Written Reports of the Garvalia Presbyterian Church,
The Boys Club of San Gabriel Valley - Rosemead Unit, and
Operation Youth Education Services were -received.

(City Operated)..

Funding of $78,965.00 for Youth Education Services Program.

Upon parting Bienvenidos Community Center asked the Council
to consider a program with a productive track reeord.

Funding for Equipment and Uniforms in the amount of $500.00.

The following was requested before the next regular meeting:
a) Report from the City Attorney to the effect - To What extent
can Revenue Sharing Money be used for programs that might
include education purposes?
b) Report from Staff regarding estimated costs for accounting
and auditing required as result of funding to other agencies..
c) Copy of the Revenue Sharing Act to a3ch Council Member..
It was moved by Councilman Andersen, second by Councilman G. Taylor
to adjourn. Unanimously Carried..
The Meeting was Adjourned at 11:05 p.m.
