CC - Item 3E - Amendment to Resolution No. 2012-28 Establishing Annual Salary Ranges and Benefits for Classification in the Middle-Management, Professional and Condidential Service of the CityTO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: JEFF ALLRED, CITY MANAGER/ DATE: OCTOBER 9, 2012 ``�� SUBJECT: Amendment to Resolution No. 2012 -28 Establishing Annual Salary Ranges and Benefits for Classifications in the Middle- Management, Professional and Confidential Service of the City SUMMARY The City Council will consider approval of an amendment to Resolution No. 2012 -28 inserting the Executive Assistant to the City Manager classification back into the Middle - Management, Professional and Confidential Service of the City. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council amend Resolution No. 2012 -28 to insert the classification of Executive Assistant to the City Manager into Middle Management, Professional, and Confidential Service unit designation. BACKGROUND /ANALYSIS On May 22, 2012, the City Council approved and adopted Resolution No. 2012 -28 establishing annual salary ranges and benefits for classifications in the Middle Management, Professional, and Confidential Service unit designation. It has been discovered that the Executive Assistant to the City Manager classification was inadvertently omitted. Therefore, it is necessary that Resolution No. 2012 -28 be amended to restore the Executive Assistant to the City Manager classification into the Middle- Management, Professional, and Confidential Service. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for the annual salary and benefits for the Executive Assistant to the City Manager classification are included in the City's 2012 -2013 Fiscal Year Budget. 1 �C Su Tan Human Resources Manager ITEM NO, �_ RESOLUTION NO. 20112-57 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2012-28 ESTABLISHING ANNUAL SALARY RANGES AND BENEFITS FOR CLASSIFICATIONS IN THE MIDDLE- MANAGEMENT, PROFESSIONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL SERVIACE OF THE CITY WHEREAS, on May 22, 2012, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2012 -28 establishing annual salary ranges and benefits for classifications in the Middle Management, Professional, and Confidential Service unit designation; and WHEREAS, the Executive Assistant to the City Manager classification was inadvertently omitted; and WHEREAS, the approval of an amendment to Resolution No. 2012 -28 inserting the Executive Assistant to the City Manager classification back into the Middle- Management, Professional and confidential Service unit designation; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemead, California, as follows: Section 1. That the City of Rosemead City Council does hereby approve Resolution No. 2012 -57, amending Resolution No. 2012 -28 establishing annual salary ranges and benefits for classifications in the Middle- Management, Professional and confidential Service unit designation by inserting the classification of Executive Assistant to the City Manager in Section 1. Applicability as follows: Executive Assistant to the City Manager salary range $3,724 - $5,039. Section 2. That the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution which shall become effective upon its approval by the City Council.
