Mrs. Wong stated that the City is taking a combat against crime. In addition, Rosemead has formed many programs to involve the citizens and help make Rosemead a safer community. Nation Night Out is a night where we can share our gratitude and partnership we have in our community. Mayor Armenta stated it this was a great way to recognize and appreciate all the hard work everyone and the block captains have done; as well as the support from the Sheriff's Department. 3. Council Member Ly reported he participated in a program involving the United States Marine Corps. The workshop incorporated ideas to build a good relationship between pacific educations and the Marine Corp. Rosemead City Council Regular Meeting Minutes of July 24, 2012 Page 5 of 7 Council Member Clark reported she attended a conference in Nashville, Tennessee for the National League of Cities on energy environment natural resources. Mrs. Clark stated that she took a tour of a water facility and explained how well prepare they were in case of an emergency. She informed Council she spoke about emergency preparedness for the City of Rosemead. Mayor Pro Tom Low stated that years ago the City did not have an emergency preparedness plan and asked how well the City is prepared compared to other cities. Mrs. Low warned that families should be preparing emergency items for several days in case of a disaster. City Manager Allred explained that there had been progress with the City's: I' , whit is in place. He explained there is an Emergency Operation Center in which staff is invo has conducted mock emergency drills.
