CC - 05-22-74 - Adjourned MeetingCITY OF ROSEMEAD ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA CITY COUNCIL MAY 22, 1974 An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Rosemead City Council was held in the Conference Room of City Hall, 8838 East Valley Boulevard and called to order by Mayor Paul Taylor at 7:30 a.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Andersen, Absent: None Ex officio: Davenport, Pike, G. Taylor, P Gunn, Tripepi Taylor, Trujillo Mayor Taylor stated that the main purpose of this meeting is to consider the proposed City Budget for-1974-1975 Fiscal Year. He stated that since it is an adjourned regular meeting he would first like to make a few announcements. 1. A letter from the California Contract Cities Association stating that Peter H. Fogarty, Mayor pro tem of the City of Norwalk has been selected as the candidate for the alternate seat on LAFCO. He stated that if there were no objections, he would cast Rosemead's vote in support of Mr. Fogarty. No Objections... 2. A notice to all members from the Contract Cities Association of "AN EVENING AT THE MUSIC CENTER" - Tuesday, July 2, 1974. Reservations to be made first come - first serve. (only 100 seats) 3. An announcement from Mr. Wayne-Henderson of the Alhambra School District informing the City Council of a meeting to be held Friday, May 31, 1974 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Luminaries Restaurant to discuss a Federal Recreation Grant. Councilwoman Trujillo stated that she would attend. City Manager Gunn stated that Recreation Supervisor Burbank would also attend. City Manager Gunn presented his letter of transmittal of the 1974-75 City Budget dated May 20, 1974. Revenue Accounts No objections as proposed City Manager Gunn announced that per instru*ions by the Council, staff had researched the cost of a pick-up truck as budgeted in the 1973-74 budget and found the cost to be $1,100 higher from the local dealer. Due to State deadlines for ordering, he informed the Council that he had signed a purchase order to the State for the Truck. No Objections... Citv Council - Account 1000 No objections as proposed. City Administration - Account 1100 No objections as proposed. It was explained at this point that personnel costs have been budgeted at current pay rates - to be changed in the final budget if authorized by Council. City Clerk - Account 1200 No objections as proposed. Finance Department - Account 1300 No objections as proposed. Page Two CC Minutes 5/22/74 City Treasurer - Account 1400 No objections as proposed. City Attorney - Account 1500 No objections as proposed. Planning, Department - Account 1600 No objections as proposed. A Resolution will be prepared to formally approve the Planning Commission meeting reimbursement. Personnel Department - Account 1700 No objections as proposed. General Government Buildings No objections as proposed Community Promotion - Account 2000 No objections as proposed. Elections - Account 2100 No objections as proposed Non-Departmental - Account 2300 No objections as proposed. Narrative for 2374 to be added. Law Enforcement - Account 3000 No objections as proposed. Councilwoman Trujillo requested information on administeeing our own Crossing Guard Program. City Manager Gunn will prepare a staff report for the next budget study session. Councilman Pike stated that he would like to see Bicycle Security Patrol considered in the budget: No action at this time. Building Regulations - Account 3200 No objections as proposed. Juvenile Diversion - Account 3600 No objections as proposed. Public Works Department - Account 4000 No objections as proposed. Sewer Maintenance - Account 4400 No objections as proposed. The Council decided that they would again pay this maintenance from General Funds instead of placing them on the County tax bill.
