An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City
of Rosemead was held in the Council Chambers of the City:Halli
8838 Valley Boulevard and called to order by Mayor Pike at
7:40 ami

BUSINESS
RESOLUTION NO. 73-89. SETTING FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT TAX RATES.
City Attorney Watson presented this Resolution by title.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROVIDING
REVENUE SHARING CREDIT FOR COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT TAXES PAID BY
CITY PROPERTY OWNERS BY ELIMINATING EXISTING TAX AND ESTABLISHING
A TAX IN PLACE THEREOF.
Mr. Gunn stated that the Board of Supervisors yesterday did cause
the Annexation of that small parcel of property that had been omitted
originally from the fire protection district. Rosemead is therefore
all encompassed in one fire protection district and this resolution
is in order.
(MO) It was moved by Councilman Taylor, second by Councilman Andersen
and unanimously carried to waive further reading and adopt.

MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
Hunter, Maude, Pike, Taylor
a. Councilman Maude requested that two corrections be made on the
August 28,1973 City Council mintues before they are presented for
approval at the next regular Council meeting. The corrections
were as follows:
1). Page Two, #9, (should read) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD AUTHORIZING THE USE OF A BANKAMERICARD BY MAYOR
AND CITY MANAGER.
2). Page Five, #C, (should read) "asphalt paving" instead of
construction of "on-site sidewalks".
Mayor Pike presented for discussion a memo from Mr. Gunn on Rosemead's
school unification feasibility studies.
Councilman Hunter requested that decision on this be postponed
until the meeting of the City Council on the 11th of September, 1973.
Mr. Gunn read the memo in full to the City Council.
Councilman Maude, stated he didn't think we could proceed on an oral
commitment and would like the Mayor to meet with the President
of the School Board and get a commitment on paper as to what the
School Board will offer in the way of information- a yes or no
answer, or detailed logistics.
