RESOLUTION NO. 69-18
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE: CASE
NUMBER 60 - REVISED.
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission does hereby find and
determine t a7i t an application was duly filed by Mr. Dean Sweeney,
with respect to real property described as follows:
The easterly 263.14 feet of the following described property: That
portion of lot 5 in Richard Garvey's Addition No. 2 in the county
of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in book
70 pages 69 et seq., Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the
County recorder of said county described as follows: Beginning at
a point in the west line of San Gabriel Boulevard, as conveyed to
the county of Los Angeles, by deed recorded in book 4475 page 60
of Deeds, records of said County, distant northerly 756.49 feet,
measured along said west line from the north line of Garvey Drive,
said point of beginning being also the southeast corner of that
certain parcel of land described as parcel 3, in the deed to Edison
Securities Company, recorded in book 1545 page 25, Official Records,
of said county; thence from said point of beginning westerly along
the south line of said parcel 3, 326.14 feet to the westerly line
of said lot 5; thence northerly, along said westerly .line of lot 5,
10 feet, more or less, to the most southerly corner of that certain
parcel of land described as parcel 6 in the deed to Southern
California Edison Company, recorded in book 1752 page 266, Official
Records of said county; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly
line of said parcel 6, 401.04 feet, more or less to a point in the
west line of San Gabriel Boulevard, 245.28 feet more or less, to
the point of beginning.
EXCEPT one -half of all oil, petroleum, gas, brea, asphaltum, and
all kindred substances and other minerals in and under said land
as reserved by Richard F. Hold, a married man, as his separate
property in deed recorded November 29, 1965;
Otherwise known as 2445 San Gabriel Boulevard, located on the west
side of San Gabriel Boulevard, south of and abutting the southerly
boundary of the Edison Company right -of -way;
requesting a Zone Variance, on property in the C -3 (Medium Commercial)
Zone to permit:
Continuance of storage and distribution of bulk petroleum products,
expansion of the office and shop building, and storage of trucks
accessory to petroleum sales and to concrete breaking, tamping and
sawing business;
that a public hearing was duly set for Tuesday, October 21, 1969, at
7 :30 P.M. at the City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California,
and a notice of the time, date, place and purpose of aforesaid hearing
was duly given; that a hearing was duly held at the aforementioned
time and place.

Section 2. The Planning Commission further finds and
determines t a�Ti tracts do exist as required by Section 9124 and
9126 et seq. of the Ordinances of the City of Rosemead justifying
a granting of the -Zone Variance.
Section 3. The Planning Commission further finds:
1. The proposed development would be in accord with
the adopted General Plan of the City of Rosemead.
2. The proposed development would not be detrimental
to the general health, safety and welfare of the
surrounding neighborhood.
Section 4. Based on the aforementioned findings the Com-
mission hereby grants a variance with respect to that property des-
cribed in Section 1 of this resolution, subject to the conditions
attached hereto.
Section 5. This action shall become final and effective
after ten ays after this decision by the Planning Commission
unless within such time a written appeal is filed with the City
Clerk, for consideration by Rosemead City Council as provided in
the Zoning Ordinance.
Section 6. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this reso u t and shall transmit copies of same to the applicant
and the Rosemead City Clerk.
