RESOLUTION NO. 68 -10
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD GRANTING -A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT: CASE NUMBER 22.`
THE PLANNING COMMI.SSION OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission does hereby find
and deter0 ne'th an application was duly filed by Occidental
Petroleum Corporation, with respect to real property described
as follows:
PARCEL 1: Lot 75 of Tract No. 3706 in the City of Rosemead, County
Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 40 ,
Page 39 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said county:
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion described as follows: Beginning
at the Northwest corner of said Lot 75; thence South along the West
line of said lot, 100 feet; thence East to a point in the East line
of said lot, distant South 104 feet to the Northeast corner; thence
West along the North line of said lot to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 2: Lot 76 of Tract No. 3706, as per map recorded in Book 40,
Page 39 of Maps, Records of said county; EXCEPTING THEREFROM, the
Easterly 60 feet of said lot.
PARCEL 3: The East 60 feet of Lot 76 of Tract No. 3706, as per map
recorded d in Book 40, Page 39 of Maps, Records of said county.
PARCEL 4: The Northerly 50 feet, front and rear, of the Southerly
3T8. T_ eet, front and rear, (said distances being measured along
the lot lines) of Lot 77 of Tract No. 3706, as per map recorded in
Book 40, Page 39 of Maps, Records of said county.
PARCEL 5: The North 95 feet of the Southerly 200 feet, measured along
or parallel with the Westerly line thereof, of Lot 74 of Tract No.
3706, as per map recorded in Book 40, Page 39 of Maps, in the office
of the County Recorder of said county.
PARCEL 6. The North 85 feet of the South 105 feet measured along or
parallel the Westerly line of Lot 74 of Tract No. 3706, as per
map recorded in Book 40, Page 39 of Maps, in the office of the
County Recorder of said county.
otherwise described a 8671, 8673, and 8679 Garvey Avenue as the
original well site test area, plus the future drill and pump site
areas, 3010 Burton Avenue, 8653, 8659, 8665, and 8667 Garvey Avenue,
and 3027 Bartlett Avenue;
requesting a Conditional Use Permit, on property in the M -1 (Light
Industrial) Zone and C -M (Commercial Manufacturing) Zones to permit:
the establishment of an exploratory well site for : the purpose of
drilling for underground oil and gas; to establish a well facility,
including necessary pipe racks, tanks, generator house, and tool
house; to maintain the site for drilling and pumping purposes for
a five year period; and, in the event oil or gas is found, main-
tenance of a pumping site thereafter as required, including appur-
tenant accessory facilities;

that a public hearing was duly set for Tuesday, May 21, 1968, at
7 :30 P.M. at the City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead,
California, and a notice of the time, date, place and purpose of
aforesaid hearing was duly given; that a hearing was duly held
at the aforementioned time and place.
Section 2. The Planning Commission further finds and
determines thaws exist as required by Section 9124 and 9126
et seq. of the Ordinance of the City of Rosemead justifying a
granting of the Conditional Use.Permit.
Section 3. The Planning commission further finds:
1. That the proposed development would be in basic accord
with the adopted General Plan of the City;
2. That the proposed development would not be harmful to
the general welfare, health and safety of the sur-
rounding community;
3. That the proposed development would be a reasonable
and acceptable use of the property.
Section 4. Based on the aforementioned findings the
Commission hereby grants a Permit with respect to that property
described in Section 1 of this resolution, subject to the condi-
tions attached hereto.
Section 5. This action shall become final and effective
after ten ays after this decision by the Planning commission
unless within such time a written appeal is filed with the City
Clerk for consideration by the Rosemead City Council as provided
in the Zoning Ordinance.
Section 6. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this reso ut io and shall transmit copies of same to the appli-
cant and the Rosemead City Clerk.
