A special meeting of the City Council of the City of
Rosemead was held in the Council Chambers of City Hall,
8838 East Valley Boulevard and called to order by Mayor
Maude at 12 Noon.
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen: Andersen, Hunter, Maude, Pike,
Taylor
Absent: Councilmen: None
Ex offico: Andersen, Gunn, Joehnck, Miller
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
2. ORDINANCE NO. 331. ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE ZONING CERTAIN
PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT.
URGENCY.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ZONING CERTAIN
PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY CBD AND DECLARING THE URGENCY
THEREOF.
Mr. Gunn presented this ordinance by title, stating the
following properties are hereby zoned CBD:
All that real property facing on the north side
of Valley Boulevard from Ivar Avenue to Hart Avenue
All that real property facing on the south side of
Valley Boulevard from Ivar Avenue to Rosemead
Boulevard
All that real property facing on either side of
Bentel Street from Ivar Avenue to Mission Drive
All that real property facing on either side of
Steele Street from Muscatel Avenue to Ivar Avenue
and from Rosemead Boulevard to Hart Street
All that real property.facing on either side of
Nevada Street from Ivar Avenue to Rosemead
Boulevard
EXCEPTING THEREFROM all those properties located
within the foregoing boundaries which are presently
zoned exclusively for residential purposes.
Councilman Pike stated the matter of a central business district,
the properties to be involved and the uses therein, has been
under study for more than five years. He,feels the ordinance
is a very good one and a step in the right direction.
It was moved by Councilman Andersen, second by Councilman
Taylor, and unanimously carried, that further reading be
waived and Ordinance No. 331 be adopted.
Roll Call Vote as follows:
AYES: Councilmen: Andersen, Hunter, Maude, Pike,
Taylor
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:' Councilmen: None
Mayor Maude recessed the meeting to a personnel session at
12:10 p.m.; it reconvened at 12:21 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS
3. ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENTS TO THE CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
Mayor Maude stated he wished to appoint the following to
this Committee:
Mr. Carlos Perez Mr. Sam Morales
Mr. Frank Magallanes Mr. John Aragon
Mr. Ben Gonzales Mr. Ernest Hollinshead
Mr. William Lujan Mr. Bob Govella
Mr. Joe Sanchez Mr. Carlos Estrada
Mr. George Acosta
It was moved by Councilman Taylor, second by Councilman Pike,
and unanimously carried, that the foregoing appointments be
ratified.
It was moved by Councilman Andersen, second by Councilman
Hunter, and unanimously carried, that we adjourn. Meeting
adjourned at 12:22 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special meeting of
