MINUTES OF JUNE 10,1970
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Rosemead was held in the Conference Room of City Hall,
8838 East Valley Boulevard, and called to order by Mayor
Taylor at 7:40 o'clock a.m. .

Absent: Councilmen: None
Ex officio: Andersen, Chambers, Gunn, Laudenslayer, Street
BUDGET STUDY CONTINUED
Recreation and Parks - Account No, 8200

Following consideration of proposed increase in part-time
Recreation personnel, it was moved by Councilman Maude,
second by Councilman Hunter, and unanimously carried, that
we approve the nine-week summer program as requested, but
delete $10,000 from Account .05 (part-time personnel),
Mr. Gunn made reference to Account .36 (Printing of Bruchures),
and recommended that the Recreation program brochures be
inserted in the newsletter.
This was agreeable to the Council and therefore the sum of
$2000 was deleted from this account.
There being no objections the balance of Account No, 8200 was
approved as proposed.
Recreation and Parks - Account No, 8300
Aquatic Division
Following discussion of Account .05fX (Guards & Jr, Guards),
it was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Hunter,
and unanimously carried, that this account remain the same
as last year's plus addition of 2-1/2% salary increase.
Reference was made to Account .11
and there being no objections the

but staff requested to secure
items requested,
Councilman Maude commented briefly on the proposed Rosemead
Community Center at Rosemead Park, and following consideration
it was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Pike,
and unanimously carried, that the sum of $50,000 be taken from
Reserve and placed in a trust fund earmarked for the proposed
community center.
It was moved by Councilman Hunter, second by Councilman Maude,
and unanimously carried, that we adjourn to 7:00 p.m, this
evening to meet in joint session with the Planning Commission,
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
