CC - 06-30-70 - Adjourned Meetingd CITY OF ROSEMEAD ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF JUNE 30, 1970 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rosemead was held at the Lido Club, 8800 E. Garvey Avenue, and called to order by Mayor Taylor at 7:30 P.m. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen: Andersen, Hunter, Maude, Pike, Taylor Commissioners: Burris, Dauer, Goforth, Detora, Schymos Ex officio: Chambers, Contreras, Street Mayor Taylor ordered formalities dispensed with stating the purpose of this meeting was to jointly consider with the Planning Commission the proposed sign ordinance. Following discussion by the Council of the present street sweeping operation, it was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Pike, and unanimously carried, that the City change to once a week sweeping on a trial basis for a period of 90 days, and that a special mailing notifying Rosemead residents of this change be prepared by the public relations staff. Following consideration of a proposed Finance Clerk, it was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Andersen, and unanimously carried, that the position of Finance Clerk remain in the budget as proposed, SIGN ORDINANCE DISCUSSION It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Hunter, and carried, that Section 4a '(Height of Sign Permitted - Resi- dential Zones), be approved as written. Councilman Pike voted Nay, Councilman Pike stated he wished to go on record as opposing a 6 foot height limit in the R-Zones. It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Hunter, and unanimously carried, that Section 4b2 (Commercial & Industrial Zones), be deleted. It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Hunter, and unanimously carried, that Section 4 of Page 8 (Sale, Lease or Rent Signs in Commercial & Mfg. Zones), be deleted. It was moved by Councilman Pike, second by Councilman Maude, and unanimously carried, that Section III of Page 8 (Billboards and Outdoor Advertising), be revised as discussed. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 1970, for further budget study. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. CITY CLERK G5 > YOR
