AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN THE
SALARIES OF CITY COUNCILMEN.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. This ordinance is enacted pursuant
to Section 36516.2 of the Government Code, authorizing
the council to provide by ordinance that each member of
the council may receive an increase in his present salary
not to exceed an amount equal to five percent (5%) for
each calendar year from the operative date of the last
adjustment of the salary in effect when said ordinance
• is enacted.
SECTION 2. The last effective date on which
salaries of members of the City Council were increased
was November 16, 1968. On that date members' salaries
were increased to Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per month
as authorized by Section 36516 of the Government Code for
cities over 35,000 up to and including 50,000 in population.
SECTION.3? Each member of the Council of the
City of Rosemad shall receive as salary the sum of Two
• Hundred Sixty-Five Dollars ($265.00) per month as authorized
by Sections 36516 and 36516.2 of the Government Code, which
shall be payable from and after the operative date of this
ordinance at the same time and in the same manner as the
salaries are paid to the other officers and employees of the
City of Rosemead.

Section 4. This ordinance shall be operative
only on and 'after April.16, 1974, the date upon which
one or more.members.of the Council of the City of
Rosemead become eligible for the salary prescribed
herein-by virtue of beginning a new term of office"
following the general municipal elections first
preceding that date.
Section. 5. This ordinance shall be-effective
thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage,
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 26th da.y_.of
June 1973.
