CONFIDENTIAL SERVICE UNIT OF THE CITY
SUMMARY
The City Council will consider approval of an amendment to Resolution No. 2016-18
inserting the Recreation Manager classification into the Middle-Management,
Professional, and Confidential Service Unit of the City.
Staff Recommendation for City Council Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2016-34 amending
Resolution No. 2016-18 to insert the Recreation Manager classification into the Middle
Management, Professional, and Confidential Service.
BACKGROUND
On June 28, 2016, the City Council approved and adopted Resolution No. 2016-18
establishing annual salary ranges and benefits for classifications in the Middle-
Management, Professional, and Confidential Service Unit designation. Due to the
assessment of the organizational structure and staffing needs of the Parks and
Recreation Department, it is necessary that Resolution No. 2016-18 be amended to
incorporate the Recreation Manager classification into the Middle-Management,
Professional, and Confidential Service Unit.
PUBLIC NOTICE PROCESS
This item has been noticed through the regular agenda notification process.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the annual salary and benefits for the Recreation Manager classification are
included in the City's 2016-2017 Fiscal Year Budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2016.18
ESTABLISHING ANNUAL SALARY RANGES AND BENEFITS FOR
CLASSIFICATIONS IN THE MIDDLE-MANAGEMENT, PROFESSIONAL AND
CONFIDENTIAL SERVICE UNIT OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, on June 28, 2016, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2016-18
establishing annual salary ranges and benefits for classifications in the Middle Management,
Professional, and Confidential Service unit designation;
WHEREAS, the Recreation Manager classification is critical to the efficient and effective
operations of the City;
WHEREAS, employees in this classification are exempt under the provisions of the
Federal Fair Labor Standards Act; and
WHERAS, the approval of an amendment to Resolution No. 2016-34 inserting the
Recreation Manager classification into the Middle-Management, Professional and Confidential
Service Unit designation is desired;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemead,
California, as follows:
Section 1. That the City of Rosemead City Council does hereby approve Resolution No.
2016-34, amending Resolution No. 2016-18 establishing annual salary ranges and benefits for
classifications in the Middle-Management, Professional and Confidential Service Unit
designation by inserting the classification of Recreation Manager in Section 1. Applicability and
amending the salary range as follows:
Recreation Manager salary range: $6,477 - $8,763
Section 2. That the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution which shall become effective upon its approval by the City Council.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Rosemead on the 129' day of July 2016.
