A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM UNASSIGNED GENERAL
FUND BALANCE FOR THE YOUTH AND RECREATIONAL
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GRANT
WHEREAS, appropriations are the legal authority for a City to spend its funds; and
WHEREAS, from time to time it is necessary to amend the budget with additional
appropriations; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to submit an application for the Youth Soccer and Recreational
Development Program Grant for a new field and restroom restoration at Garvey Park; and
WHEREAS, the $1,000,000 in grant funding is only for construction costs; and
WHEREAS, $50,000 as in -kind contribution for design and non - construction related
expenses is part of the grant application; and
NOW THEREFORE, $50,000 is appropriated from unassigned General Fund Balance for
Expenditures related to the Youth Soccer and Recreational Development Program Grant projects as
defined below:

The additional appropriation is made a part of the approved FY 2016 -17 budget as though it were a
part of the initial budget fully set forth.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and hereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
