AN ORDINANCE OF..THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD APPROVING
TIB; ANNEXATION.,dt-.CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED "CITY QF ROSEMEAD ANNEX TtdN AREA
NO. 21" TO THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 12th day of December, 1961, the
City Council of the City of Rosemead on its own motion
initiated proceedings for the annexation of certain unin-
habited territory to the City of Rosemead; and
WHEREAS, on the 12th day of.December, 1961, the Council
of the City of Rosemead did pass and adopt Resolution No.
61-81 giving notice of the proposal to annex said uninhabited
territory to the City of Rosemead, said territory being
therein designated as "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No,
21", which resolution described the boundaries of the terri-
tory so proposed to be annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 61-81 did contain a
notice of the day, hour and place when and where the said
Council of said City would hear protests made by any person
o-vming real property within the territory proposed to be
annexed; tc time of said hearing being not less than forty
nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said
resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of January, 1962, at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. at 8815 East.Valley Boulevard,
in the City of Rosemead, ;County of Los;Angeles, State of
California, said time and place being the day and hour and
place fixed in said Resolution No. 6141 for hearing protests
to the said annexation, the said Council of said City did
hear and pass upon all protests made to said proposed annexation
did find and declare by resolution that protests to said
proposed annexation have not been made by private owners of
one-half of the value of the privately owned territory pro-
posed to be annexed, nor by public owners of one-half of the
publicly owned property, proposed to be annexed, nor has a
majority protest been made; and
. WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City
of Rosemead and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los
Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of
Rosemead does hereby approve the annexation of said territory
hereinafter described, to the City of Rosemead, and does
hereby further ordain that the-said territory be and is hereby
anasxed to the City of Rosemead.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
City of Rosemead is herein approved, is all that territory
in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more parti-'-
cularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly
prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 5 of
Tract No. 830, as per map recorded in Book 16,
page 117 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder, of said county with the southerly
boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said
boundary.existed on November 9, 1961; thence
southerly along said prolongation and said.
westerly line of Lot 5, a distance of 230 feet
to a line which is parallel with and distant

southerly 200 feet, measured at right angles,
from the southerly line of Garvey Avenue, .60
feet wide, as'shown on Map of Tract No. 3706, as
per map recorded in Book 40, page 39 of Maps,
in the office of said county recorder; thence
westerly along said parallel line to the center
line of,Muscatel Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown
on Map of Tract No. 14146 as.per map recorded
in Book 310, pages 25 through 27 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said county;-,
thence southerly along said center line of
Muscatel Avenue to a line which is parallel with
and distant southerly 250 feet, measured at right
angles, from said southerly line of Garvey Avenue;
thence westerly along said last mentioned parallel
line to the easterly line of said Tract No. 14146;
thence southerly along said easterly line to the
northeasterly corner of Lot 20 of said Tract No.
14146; thence westerly along the northerly line of
said Lot 20 to the northwesterly corner of said
Lot 20; thence westerly in a direct line to the
northeasterly corner of Lot 25 of said Tract No.
14146; thence westerly along the northerly line
of said Lot.25 to the northeasterly corner of:Lot
39 of Tract No. 15384 as per map recorded in
Book 377, pages 26 and 27 of Maps, in the office
of said county recorder; thence westerly along
the northerly line of said Lot 39 and the westerly
prolongation thereof, to the center line of
La Press Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on map
of said Tract No. 15384; thence southerly along
said last mentioned center line to the easterly .
prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 1 of
said Tract No. 15384; thence westerly along said
last mentioned prolonged line and along the
northerly line of said Lot 1, to the northwest
corner of said Lot 1; thence northerly along the
northerly prolongation of the westerly line of
said Tract No. 15384, to a line which is . parallel
with and distant southerly 238 feet, measured at
right angles, from the southerly line of Garvey
Avenue, 100 feet wide, as shown on map of said
Tract No. 15384; thence westerly along said last
mentioned parallel line 50 feet to a line which is
• parallel with said northerly.prolongation of the
westerly line of Tract No. 153384; thence northerly
along said last mentioned parallel line to the
center line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as
shown on map of said Tract No. 153$4; thence
easterly along said last mentioned center line to
the southerly prolongation of the center line of
Burton Avenue, 40 feet wide, as shown on map of
said Tract No. 3706,; thence northerly along said
last mentioned prolongation and said last mentioned
center line, to a .line which is parallel with and
distant northerly 230 feet, measured at right
angles, from the center line of Garvey Avenue,
60 feet wide, as shown on map of said Tract No.
3706; thence easterly along said last mentioned
parallel line, to the westerly line of Lot 75 of
said Tract No. 3706; thence northerly along said
last mentioned westerly line to the northwesterly
corner of said Lot 75; thence easterly along the
northerly line of said Lot 75 and the northerly
line of Lot 76 of said.Tract No. 3706, to the
northeasterly corner of said Lot 76; thence
southerly along the easterly line of said Lot .76
