THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED "CITY OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA NO.
18" TO THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of August, 1961, the City Council
of the City of Rosemead on its own motion initiated proceedings for
the annexation of certain uninhabited territory to the City of
Rosemead; and
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of August, 1961, the Council of
the City of Rosemead did pass and adopt. Resolution No. 61-56
giving notice of the proposal to annex said uninhabited territory
to the City of Rosemead, said territory being therein designated
as "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. 18", which Resolution
described the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to said City; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 61-56 did contain a notice
of the day, hour and place when and where the said Council of said
City would hear protests made by any person owning real property
within the territory proposed to be arne::ed, the time of said
hearing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from
the date of passage of said resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 26t1 day of September, 1961, at the hour
of 8:00 o'clock P.M. at 8815 East Valley Boulevard, in the City of
Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time
and place being the day and hour and place fixed in said Resolution
No. 61-56 for hearing protests to the said annexation the said
Council of said City did hear and pass upon all protests made to
said proposed annexation and did find and declare by resolution
that protests to said proposed annexation have not been made by
private owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned
territory proposed to be ar_nexed, nor by public owners of one-half
of the publicly owned property prop ced to be annexed, nor has a
majority protest been made; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Rosemead and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Rosemead
does hereby approve the annexation of said territory hereinafter
described, to the City of Rosemead, and does hereby further ordain
that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of
Rosemead.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City
of Rosemead is herein approved, is all that territory in the County
of Los Angeles, State of Ca'__fornia, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the southerly boundary of the
City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on July 5,
1961, said point being the westerly terminus of the
straight line portion of the southerly line of Lot 44 of
Tract No. 12492 as cer map recorded in Book 245 pages 39
to 41, inclusive of Maps in the office of the County
Recorder of said County; thence northwesterly and
northerly following the boundary of the City of Rosemead,
as said boundary existed as of July 5, 1961, to a point
in the westerly boundary of the City of Rosemead, distant
therein 230.42 feet more or less from the southerly line
of Block H of the Freer Tract, as per map recorded in
Book 39, page 82 of Miscellaneous Records in the office
of said County Recorder, said last mentioned point being
the most northerly corner of the land described in deed

from the State of California to F.-R. Webb recorded
September 19, 1956, as Instrument No. 3712 in Book 52342
page 275 of Official Records of'6aid County; thence along
the northwesterly line of the land described in said
deed, South 41°34'26" West 123.29 feet; thence along the
westerly line of the land described in said deed and
along the southerly prolongation thereof, South 20°22'20"
West to the center line of Hellman Avenue, 60 feet wide,
as shown on said map of Tract No. 12492; thence westerly
along said center line to the center line of San Gabriel
Boulevard, 80 feet wide, as said last mentioned center
line is shown on map of Tract No. 11568 as per map
recorded in Book 209 pages 24 and 25 of Maps in the
office of said County Recorder; thence southerly along
said center line of San Gabriel Boulevard to the westerly
prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 43 of said
Tract No. 11568; thence easterly along said last mention-
ed prolonged line and southerly line of said Lot 43 to the
southeasterly corner of said Lot 43; thence easterly in
a direct line to the southwesterly corner of Lot 40 of
said Tract No. 11568; thence northerly along the westerly
line of said Lot 40 and the westerly line of Lot 41 of
said Tract No. 11568 to the northwesterly corner of said
Lot 41; thence northerly parallel with the westerly line
of Gladys Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of said
Tract No. 11568 to the southerly line of said Hellman
Avenue; thence northerly in a direct line to the point of
• beginning.
