AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ADOPTING BY
REFERENCE ORDINANCE NO. 7583 OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A HEALTH
CODE" AND AMENDING THE ROSEMEAD MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Rosemead Municipal Code is hereby amended
by conso ri at-ing Sections 5100 and 5102 thereof into one section
numbered 5100 to read:
"Section 5100. Ado tion of Health Code. Except as
hereinafter provided Ordinance No. /503 of the County
of Los Angeles, as amended to and in effect on December
27, 1960, is hereby adopted by reference as an ordinance
of the City of Rosemead. Said ordinance, as now con-
stituted and from time to time amended shall constitute
and may be referred to as the Health Code of the City
of Rosemead.
Section 2. The Rosemead Municipal Code is hereby amended
by renum erring and amending Section 5102 thereof to read:
"Section 5101. Deposit with Clerk. Three (3) copies of
said Ordinance No. 7583 of the County of Los Angeles
have been deposited in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Rosemead and shall be there maintained by
said Clerk for use and inspection by the public."
Section 3. The Rosemead Municipal Code is hereby amended
by adding a new section 5102 to read:
"Section 5102. Definitions. Whenever any of the following
names or terms are use in said Ordinance No. 7583 of the
County of Los Angeles, each name or term shall be deemed
and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this
section as follows:
"1. 'County,' 'County of Los Angeles,' or 'Unincorpor-
ated Area' shall mean the City of Rosemead.
"2. 'Health Officer' means the Health Officer of the
County of Los Angeles or such other person as may be
appointed by the City Ck-uncil to perform the functions of
the Health Officer under said ordinance."
Section 4. The Rosemead Municipal Code is hereby amended
by ad ing a new section 5103 to read:
"Section 5103. Existin Count Permit. Where an applicant
for a health permit fias a va id unexpired county health
permit, the City Council, if it finds that the public
health will be protected, may authorize the Health Officer
to accept that permit in lieu of the issuance of an addi-
tional permit by the City."
