MINUTES—September 29, 2016 There was a motion by Brian Lewin and a second by James Berry to approve the Public Safety ROSEMEAD PUBLIC SAFETY CONNECTIONS FORUM MEETING MINUTES October 27,2016 CONNECTIONS Forum minutes for September 29, 2016. Minutes were unanimously approved. 3. SIGNIFICANT LAW ENFORCEMENT INCIDENTS Lt. Somoano provided an update on crime activity, including the following: o Property Crime continues to be a major concern in our area. Year-to-Date there is 4% decreased in robbery, 9% increased on Aggravated Assault in Domestic Violence; increase in Commercial Burglary;Auto Theft has decreased 27%compared to last year. o The Rosemead Special Assignment Team is spending a lot of time to address property crimes and auto thefts. o To prevent auto thefts, lock your car doors. 4. S.W.O.T. TASK FORCE UPDATE Juan Tinoco could not attend the meeting and has asked Mandy Wong from the sub-committee to provide an update from the sub-committee meeting held on October 19, 2016 at the University of the West. An update was shared on shod and long term goals. Lena Woo and Bulmaro A. Magallon would also like to be on the sub-committee. At the next CONNECTIONS meeting, Juan will share more. 5. BRIEF ANNOUNCEMENTS Louisa Day invited everyone to the A Spirit of Mercy Year-End Benefit Diner on December 3, 2016 at the Rosemead Community Center from 6 - 9pm. For more information or to reserve tickets, call (323) 360- 5186. Katdna Sornoso mentioned she is hosting a fundraiser at her home for the Garvey School District Founders' Day. Everyone is invited to attend. Brian Lewin mentioned the Holiday Decoration application will be available in mid-November. Ron Esquivel thanked everyone that attended the Rosemead School District annual Run/Walk Against Drugs on October 22, 2016. 6. PUBLIC COMMENT None. 7. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 6:50 pm. Due to the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays the CONNECTIONS Forum meetings for November 24 and December 29, 2016 will be cancelled. The next CONNECTIONS Forum will resume as scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 6:00 pm. Location of the meeting to be determined.
