AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED "CITY OF ROSIEWAD ANNEXATION AREA 110.
r"' TO THE CITY OF ROSEMAD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of January, 1960, the City Council
of the City of Rosemead on its own motion initInted proceedings
for the annexation of certain uninhabited territory to the City
of Rosemead; and
4IHEREAS, on the 26th day of January, 1960, the Council of.
the City o Rosemead did pass and adopt Resolution No. 60-10
giving notice of the proposal to annex said uninhabited territory
to the City of Rosemead, said territory being therein dnsi;;,af-ed
as "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. 7", which resolution
described the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 60-10 did contain a notice of
the day, hour and place when and where the said Council of said
City would hear protests made by any person owning real property
within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said
• hearing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from
the date of passage of said resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of March, 1960, at the hour of 8:00
o'clock P. M. at 3964 North Rosemead Boulevard, in the City of
Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time
and place being the day and hour and place fixed in said Resolu-
tion No. 60-10 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the
said Council of said City did hear and pass upon all protests
made to said proposed annexation and did determine that no pro-
tests to said proposed annexation have been made by the owners
of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by private
owners of one-half the value of the privately owned territory
proposed to be annexed nor by public owners of one-half of the
publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed; and
• WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Rose-
mead and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Rosemead
does hereby approve the annexation of said territory hereinafter
described, to the City of Rosemead, and does hereby further ordain
that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of
Rosemead.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Rosemead is herein approved, is all that territory in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly boundary of
the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on January
7, 1960, with the northerly prolongation of the centerline
of River Avenue, 60 feet wide, as said avenue is shown on
Tract No. 830 as per map recorded in Book 16, page 117 of
Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County; thence southerly along said northerly prolongation
and the centerline of said River Avenue to an intersection
with the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Lot
4 in said Tract No. 830; thence easterly along said westerly
prolongation and the southerly line of said Lot 4 to the
southwesterly corner of Lot 3 in said Tract No. 830; thence
easterly along the southerly line of said Lot 3 to the
northwesterly boundary of the City of South El Monte,.as
said boundary existed on January 7, 1960; thence north-
easterly following the various courses of the boundary
of the City of South E1 Monte to a point in the centerline
of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as said last mentioned
avenue is shown on County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 10882,
on file in the office of the Engineer of said county; said
last mentioned point being an angle point in the north-
westerly boundary of the City of South El Monte; thence
northerly, at right angles to said centerline of Garvey
avenue to the northerly line of said Garvey Avenue; thence
westerly along said northerly line of Garvey Avenue to the
easterly boundary of the City of El Monte, as said boundary
existed on January 7, 1960; thence southerly and following
the various courses of said boundary of the City of E1 Monte.
to an angle point in said southerly boundary of the City of
Rosemead; thence westerly along said southerly boundary to
the point of beginning.
