AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROHIBITING
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SECOND HAND STORES AND DOG
KENNELS WITHING THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, AND EXTENDLNG
PORTIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 174 FOR ONE YEAR
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD HEREBY ORDAINS AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 174 of the City of Rosemead,
adopte-d-FTe r'uary 8, 1966, is hereby amended to read:
"Section 1. Notwithstanding any further
provision' 77 the ordinances of the City of
Rosemead or of the Rosemead Municipal Code, no
retail or wholesale business dealing primarily
in used clothing or other used merchandise, except
bona fide antique stores, and no dog kennels, shal
be permitted in any zone in the City of Rosemead
for a period commencing on the date of adoption
hereof and expiring February 8, 1968."
Section 2. The Planning Commission of the City of
Rosemea-d'is now conducting studies with reference to the
location, control and regulation of second hand businesses
and dog kennels in the City of Rosemead. Pending the comple-
tion of such studies and in order to prevent during such period
the establishment of land uses which may be in conflict with a
contemplated zoning proposal which the Planning Commission is
considering or studying, it is necessary and desirable that no
additional such businesses be established in the City. This
ordinance is therefore declared to be an interim zoning ordin-
ance necessary for the protection of the public safety, health
and welfare of the City of Rosemead and shall take effect
immediately upon adoption.
