AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
REGULATING AUTOMOBILE. SERVICE STATIONS.
WITHIN THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN.~AS.FOLLOWS:
Section 1, Notwithstanding any other provision
of the Rosemead -Municipal Code or:the Ordinances of the
City of Rosemead, no automobile service station shall be.
permitted in any zone in the City of Rosemead. This
Ordinance shall not apply to the improvement or expansion
of an existing service station or to the construction of
service stations at locations approved by zone exceptions
prior to.the adoption of this Ordinance.
Section 2. The Planning Commission of the City
of Rosemead ow nd has been for some time conducting
studies with reference to the location, control and regu-
• lation of automobile service stations. Pending the com-,
pletion of such studies and in order to prevent the de-
velopment of properties in a manner incompatible with the,
zoneing classification and regulations which may be propos-.
ed after study, it is necessary and desirable that no
further automobile service stations be established. This
Ordinance is therefore declared to be an interim zoning
ordinance necessary for the'protection of the health, .
safety and general welfare of the City of Rosemead and
shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
