Ordinance No. 179 - Classifying Certain PropertyORDINANCE NO. 170, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD CLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN ZONES C-3, P, R-2 AND R-3 AND EXTENDING ORDINANCE 110. 173 FOR ONE YEAR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ordinance No. 173 of the City of Rosemead entitle AAN 6RDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD CLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN ZONES C-3, P, R-2 and R-3" is hereby readopted and extended in full force and effect for a term, of one year expiring May 10, 1967. In order to provide for such extension, said Ordinance is hereby amended to read: "Section 1. All of that certain property incluTe-d witFin the area designated as 'Annexation Area No. 25A' to the City of Rosemead, which annexation-was approved by Ordinance No. 172, adopted January 25, 1966, is hereby classified and zoned C-3, P, R-2 and R-3, as shown on the attached map marked Exhibit A and made a part hereof. "Section 2 The hereinabove described property shal e c assified as Zones C-3, P, R-2 and R-3 on the Official Zoning Map of the City of Rosemead referred to in Section 9103.1 of the Rosemead Municipal Code. The Clerk is hereby directed to note on said map 'Amended to May 10, 1966.'" Section 2. The Planning Commission of the City of Rosemea-is--c-o-n-Uucting studies with reference to the permanent zoning of the territory which has been annexed to the City of Rosemead as Rosemead (Annexation Area No. 25A, annexed to said City by Ordinance No. 172, adopted January 25, 1966. Ordinance No. 173 adopted as a temporary interim zoning ordinance upon completion of such annexation, expires by operation of law before permanent zoning can be effected. By reason thereof, • said property would be without zoning classification in the absence of the adoption of this ordinance and such condition would result in land uses incompatible with adjacent land uses, detrimental to property values and inimical to the orderly development of the City. This ordinance is therefore necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare, is a temporary interim ordinance and shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
