Ordinance No. 177 - Changes in Zoning RegulationsORDINANCE NO. 177 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD MAKING CHANGES IN ZONING REGULATIONS AND AMENDING THE ROSEMEAD MUNICIPAL CODE. E r1 LJ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3. Section 9121.14 of the Rosemead Municipal Code is amended to read: 119121.14 Additional Dwellin Units. Notwithstanding any other provisions o s ap er, property in the R-1 or A-1 zone having an area of twelve thousand (12,000) square feet or more and with adequate provisions for ingress and egress, may be used for the erection, construction, occupancy, use, alteration or enlargement of one single family dwelling, together with accessory buildings per- mitted in such zone, for each six thousand (6,000) square feet of area or more (provided that for each dwelling not fronting on a street, the lot area shall be seven thousand (7,000) square feet), on the condition that a plot plan has first been approved, subject to any conditions, by the Planning Commission pursuant to Article IX, Chapter 4 of this Code, and that a Parcel Map be approved and recorded pursuant to law. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Chapter, property in the R-2 zone having an area more than six thousand (6,000) square feet and with adequate pro- visions for ingress and egress, may be used for the erection, construction, occupancy, use, alteration or enlargement of one additional family unit, together with accessory buildings permitted in such zone, for each three thousand (3,000) square feet of area or more in excess of six thousand (6,000) square feet, on the condition that a plot plan has first been approved, subject to any conditions, by the Planning Commission pursuant to Article IX, Chapter 4 of this Code, and that a Parcel Map be approved and recorded pursuant to law. Section 4. The Planning Commission is undertaking studies loo ing toward the revision of the zoning regulations as herein provided. Unless the above provisions are made effective immediately, during the consideration of amendments to the zoning regulations developments may commence contrary to the proposed regulations, and which would be detrimental to the orderly development of the City. This ordinance is therefore necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare, is a temporary interim ordinance and shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
