Ordinance No. 016 - Prohibiting Excessive UnsightlinessORDINANCE NO. 16
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING EXCESSIVE UNSIGHTLINESS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE.
Chapter 2 is added to Article V of the Rosemead Municipal
Code, the sections of which shall read as follows:
Section 5201. Purpose.
Every person, firm or corporation who owns or has charge or
management of any real property in the incorporated territory of the City
or Rosemead who permits any part of such proptety to become so unsightly
as to substantially detract from the appearance of the immediate neighbor-
hood, or who fails or omits to clean up or correct such unsightly or un-
tidy conditions, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 5202. Validity.
If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof
to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the
ordinance, and the application of such provision to other persons or
circumstances, shall not be affected thereby.
Section 5203. Penalty.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 or by imprisonment in
the county jail for not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and
imprisonment. Each separate day or any portion thereof during which any
violation of this ordinance occurs or continues shall be deemed to con-
stitute a separate offense and upon conviction therefor shall be punish-
able as herein provided.
