AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAO
REGULATING AUTOMOBILE SERVICE STATIONS
IN CERTAIN AREAS AND SECONDHAND STORES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY OPZkl N
AS FOLLOWS :
Section I. Notwithstanding any other provision of
the Rosemea unicipal Code or the ordinances of the City
of Rosemead, no,automobile service station shall be permitted
in any zone in the City of Rosemead on property located on
Mission Drive, Rosemead Boulevard or Valley Boulevard for a
period of ninety (90) days from the date of adoption of this
ordinance. This ordinance shall: not apply to the improvement
or expansion of an existing service station in such area.
Section 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of
the ordinances n7 the City of Rosemead or of the Rosemead
Municipal Code, no retail or wholesale business dealing
primarily in used clothing or other used merchandise-except
bona fide antique stores shall be permitted in any Zone in the
City of Rosemead for a period of ninety (90) days from the
date of adoption of this ordinance.
1.0 Section 3, The Planning Commission of-the City of
Rosemead is now conducting studies with reference to the
location, control and regulation of service stations and
secondhand businesses in the City of Rosemead. Pending
the completion of such studies and in order to prevent
during such period the development of properties in a
manner incompatible with such zoning classifications and
regulations as may be proposed after such studies and with
surrounding land uses, it is necessary and desirable that no
further such businesses be established. This ordinance is
therefore declared to be an interim zoning ordinance necessary
for the protection of the health, safety and general welfare of
the City of Rosemead and shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
