THE ROSEMEAD MUNICIPAL CODE RE,THE PLANING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Sectioi_.li Sections 2500,through 2506 of,Chapter 5 of Article o, the Rosemead Municipal Code are amended to read as follows! CHAPTER, 5.1 PLANNING COMMISSION 2500. Planning Commission Creation of: A Planning Commission w is may a nown an re erre to as the "Planning Commission" of the City of Rosemead is hereby;eefablished pursuant to the provisions of that certain act 0~ the legislature of the State of California, which is ilesig- hated and referred to as the "Planning Law" (Title 7 of the Government Code of the State of California), as amended to date and as same may hereafter be amended. 2501 Members. The Planning Commission shall consist of five memo which five members shall be appointed in accord- ance with state law. An appointed member of the Planning Commission may be removed at any time by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Council, or by a majority vote of the City Council. Of the members of said Commission first appointed hereunder, one shall be for the term of four years, one for the term of three years, one for the term of two years, and two for the term of one year. The first members of the Commission as established herein shall be five of the seven members of the Planning Commission of the City as created by Ordinance No. 3, adopted August 26, 1959. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of four years. If a vacancy shall occur otherwise than by expiration of term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. 2502. Absence from Meetin ss. Notwithstanding any other privision o t is I;ode, any Commissioner who absents himself from any three consecutive regular meetings of said Planning Commission, unless excused from such attendance by consent of such Commission expressed by action of record in its minutes or who is absent from a total of five regular meetings of said Commission in any six months' period without such consent of such Commission so expressed of record, shall thereby auto- matically forfeit his or her position or office as a member of said Planning Commission, and the name of such person shall be automatically removed from the membership of said Commission immediately after the adjournment of any such third consecutive meeting or of any such fifth meeting in any such six months period, as the case may be, at which such Commissioner has not appeared. The Chairman or the Secretary of the Commission shall thereupon promptly notify the City Council, and any such person so ceasing to be such Commissioner, of such fact; whereupon the vacancy so created shall be filled by appointment. 2503. Duties. That the said Planning Commission and the .members thereof shall respectively have and exercise each and all of the powers, duties; rights, privileges and authorities of City Planning Commissions and of members of such Commissions, all as set forth, pro- vided for, and contemplated in this Code and in and •under the provisions of said "Planning Law" as same now exists and as same may hereafter be amended, and shall perform the duties, acts and functions of such City Planning Commissions, and members thereof, respectively, all as indicated, set forth and referred to in, and as contemplated by, said "Planning law" and in the manner therein stated. 2504. Records. That the said Commission shall cause proper records to be kept of all its official acts and pro- ceedings, and shall make reports to the City Council of said City, all as contemplated in and by said "Planning Law." • 2505. Rules and Rieutations. That except as otherwise °pro- vided in the Code or by law, said Commission shall` have power to and shall provide for its own organiza- tion; shall adopt rules and regulations for the transaction of business before it; and shall designate the time and place for the regular monthly meeting or meetings of said Commission. 2506. Regular Meetings. A regular meeting as provided by law. or as established by rule of the Planning Commission or any regularly advertised public hearing shall be deemed a regular meeting. Section 2. Each and every provision of Ordinance No. 3 of the City oRf osemead, adopted August 26, 1959, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance is hereby repealed.
