Ordinance No. 121 - Amending the Zoning MapORDINANCE NO. 121 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP EFFECTIVE ON COMPLETION OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section qTU3-.1o the Rosemead Municipal Code, effective upon the completion of the proceedings for the annexation of the territory designated as Rosemead Annexation Area No. 23 to the City of Rosemead,.the territory included within the boundaries of said annexation are hereby classified and zoned as follows: R-1 Single Family Residential. Tract No. 27515, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 699 pages 83 and 84 of Maps, in the office.of the County Recorder of said County. Lots, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Tract No. 26931, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 688, pages 39 and 40 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of.said County. C-3 Medium Commercial That portion of Lot 7 of Tract 701, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 16, pages 110 and 111, of Maps,..in the office of the County Recorder of said County,. described as follo•: Beginning at the most northerly corner of 'said Lot 7 and which is also the intersection of the southwesterly line of Rush Street, 60 feet wide, with the easterly line of San Gabriel Boulevard, 80 feet wide; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 7 to the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of said Lot 7 and which is also the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Rush Street, 50 feet wide; thence easterly along said westerly prolongation to an angle point in said northerly line of Lot 7 and which is also an angle point in the southerly line of Rush Street; thence northwesterly along said southwesterly line of Rush Street to the point of beginning. That portion of Lot 7 and Lot 8 of Richard Garvey's Addition No. 2 in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 70 pages 69 • through 71 inclusive, of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, descri.bed' as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly li.ne of Tract No...4610, as per map recorded in Book 93, pages 12 and 13, of Ma= in the office of said Recorder with the southwesterly line of the 75 foot wide easement owned by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District known as the Alhambra Wash and which is shown on Filed Map No. 18499 sheet 6, on file in the office of the Engineer of said County; thence souther..ly along said easterly line of Tract No. 4610 and along the easterly line of Angelus Avenue. 30 feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract No. x+610, tn the northerly line of Lot 8 of said Richard Garvey's Addition No..2; thence westerly along said,last mentioned northerly line to the northwesterly' • corner of said Lot 8; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 8 and along the easterly line of Tract No. 7123, as per map recorded in Book 82, pages 72 through 74 inclusive, of Maps, in the office of said Recorder, to the southeast corner of Lot 127 of said Tract No. .7123; thence easterly alone the easterly prolongation of the northerly line of Keim Street, 50 feet wide, as shown on map of said Tract No. 7123, a distance of 263 feet to a line which is parallel with said westerly line of.Lot 8; thence southerly along said last mentioned parallel line and the southerly prolongation thereof, to the northerly line of Rush Street, 60 feet wide, as shown on.County Surveyors Map No. B-384, Sheet 1, on file in the office of the Engineer of said County;,thence easterly along said northerly line of Rush Street to the southerly prolongation of a line which is parallel with and distant easterly 150 feet, measured at right angles`from the easterly line of said Tract No. 4610 thence northerly along said southerly prolongation and said parallel line to said southwesterly line of the Alhambta Wash; thence northwesterly along said southwesterly line to the point of beginning. - 2 - Any of said territory not hereinabove specifically classified and zoned shall be classified and zoned: A-1 Light Agricultural. Conditional Use Permits are hereby granted to permit any lawful existing uses within said zones-. Section 2. Effective upon completion of the proceedings for the annexation of said Annexation Area No. 23 to the City of Rosemead, the territory,included..in said annexation proceedir- shall be added to and shown-on the zoning map of the City of Rosemead, with zones designated as hereinabove provided. Section 3. Annexation proceedings..are now pending for the annexation of the territory hereinabove described to the City of Rosemead. The hearing on said annexation is scheduled for December 10, 1963. Upon the completion of such annexation proceedings, all said territory will become a part of the City of Rosemead and the zoning thereon which existed in the unincorporated territory of Los Angeles County will cease to be effective.. By reason thereof, in the absence of the adoption of this.ordinance, upon completion of annexation said territory would be without zoning classification and such condition may result in land uses incompatible with adjacent land uses, detrimental to property values and which would be inimical to the orderly development of the city. This ordinance is therefore necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare, is a temporary interim ordinance and shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
