ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL
FROM: FRANK G. TRIPEPI, CITY MANAGER
DATE: JANUARY 20, 1999
RE: APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES
FOR CONCRETE REPAIRS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS (FY 1998-99)
Attached for your consideration is an engineering proposal from Willdan Associates for
preliminary and final engineering design, design and construction survey, monument
restoration, utility coordination, contract administration, and construction observation for
the annual concrete repairs at various locations throughout the Rosemead Redevelopment
Agency and the City of Rosemead.
The concrete repairs project includes removal and reconstruction of existing damaged and
uplifted curb, gutter, sidewalk, and driveways as well as replacement of parkway trees with
root control barriers, if it is determined that uplifting is a result of the tree.
The list of locations for concrete repairs will be prepared as part of the engineer's design
effort. The project will also include citizen requests received during the past year that have
been verified as needing concrete repairs as well as the Los Angeles County's
maintenance list.
The total construction cost for the 1998-99 concrete repairs project is estimated to be
$89,000. The City's share is estimated at$31,000 and the Agency's estimated at$58,000.
The proposed project is currently programmed in FY 1998-99 City and Redevelopment
Agency budgets. The City budget utilizes SB 821 Sidewalk Grant funds.
