RE: COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND AGENCY FOR
CONCRETE REPAIRS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS (FY 1998-99)
Attached for the Redevelopment Agency's review is a cooperative agreement between the
City and the Agency for the subject project.
The concrete repair project has been budgeted by the Agency. In an effort to reduce
construction costs, this project will be bid together with the City's concrete repair project.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency approve the attached agreement.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
AND THE ROSEMEAD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
FOR CONCRETE REPAIR PROJECT AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
(FY 1998-99)
THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this 26th day of January, 1999, by and between
the CITY OF ROSEMEAD (hereinafter"CITY")and the ROSEMEAD REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY (hereinafter"AGENCY").
WHEREAS, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq., the City
Council of the City of Rosemead established the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency under
authority of the California Community Redevelopment Law; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq., the City
Council of the City of Rosemead, by enactment of Ordinance No. 340, on June 27, 1972,
has established the Rosemead Redevelopment Project Area No. 1; and
WHEREAS, CITY and AGENCY have a common interest in and wish to facilitate
redevelopment within the City and to provide for the cooperation of CITY and AGENCY in
carrying out redevelopment activities; and
WHEREAS, CITY and AGENCY both desire to construct the public improvements
and facilities described herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree:
Section 1. Each party shall have access to the services and facilities of the other
party and its staff. Each party shall also cooperate with the other in providing for
redevelopment activities within CITY.
Section 2. CITY shall supply to AGENCY such information and reports as from
time to time the AGENCY may require.
Section 3. CITY will assist AGENCY in the planning, financing, acquisition,
construction and maintenance or operation of redevelopment activities undertaken by the
AGENCY within CITY in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
Section 4. CITY and AGENCY shall jointly undertake the planning, design, and
construction of concrete improvements at various locations. CITY shall be"Lead Agency",
as defined in Public Resources Code Section 21067.
Section 5. AGENCY shall pay the cost of the concrete improvements at various
locations benefitting Project Area No. 1. The total AGENCY obligation for the project shall
not exceed Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($75,000). The CITY shall pay the balance of
the costs of the concrete improvements. The total CITY obligation for the project is
estimated to be Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000).
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement on the
date first written above.
