APPROVAL OF MINUTES: JANUARY 26, 1999 -REGULAR MEETING
1. RESOLUTION NO. 99-05 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
Recommendation: Approve Resolution No. 99-05, for payment of Agency
expenditures.
2. RESOLUTION NO. 99-06 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
Recommendation: Approve Resolution No. 99-06, for payment of Agency
expenditures.
3. CONTRACT AMENDMENT AND CHANGE ORDER REQUESTS
FOR CITY HALL ENERGY RETRO-FIT PROJECT
Change orders for exterior lighting and thermostat relocation for energy retro-fit
project.
Recommendation: Approve change orders and contract amendment
4. APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
AUTHORIZATION TO SEEK BIDS FOR STORM DRAIN
IMPROVEMENTS IN KELBURN AND DELTA AVENUES
This storm drain project provides for the construction of storm drain in Kelburn
Avenue (Emerson Place/Dorothy Avenue) and in Delta Avenue(Earle
Avenue/Dorothy Avenue) to improve collection of storm runoff in the area.
Recommendation: Approve the plans and specifications and authorize
advertisement for bids by the Agency Secretary.
5. APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING
SERVICES FOR REHABILITATION OF THE CITY HALL
FOUNTAIN
This proposal provides for engineering services for this project, which entails
installing new piping and pumping equipment for the City Hall fountain.
Recommendation: Approve the engineering proposal and direct staff to begin the
preparation of the necessary plans and specifications.
6. GARVEY PARK CLUBHOUSE AND SHERIFF'S SUB-STATION
APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS NO. 3 AND NO. 4
Change Order No. 3 is for installing insulation in all exterior walls in the large
meeting room and replacing the drywall. These walls were not insulated when the
building was originally built.
Change Order No. 4 deals with improving the quality of the ceiling in the large
meeting room.
Recommendation: Approve Change Orders No. 3 and No. 4.
7. SELECTION OF CONSULTANT TO ASSIST IN PURCHASE OF
REPLACEMENT TELEPHONE SYSTEM
This proposal calls for a three-phased work schedule. The first phase will focus on
a "Needs Analysis," the second phase will be "Procurement" and the third phase
will focus on "Implementation." Corn Consultants proposes to bill the Agency at a
rate of$95.00 per hour. The costs, however, will not exceed $4,940 for any
phase. It is expected that the purchase of equipment, training and installation of
the new telephone system will not exceed $150,000. The total cost, including
consultant fees, will not exceed $165,000.
Recommendation: Authorize the Executive Director to retain Corn Consultants
to assist the Agency in purchasing and installing a new telephone system in City
Hall.
