SUMMARY
At the January 2018 City Council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Ly requested that staff study options for the
temporary use of privately owned vacant lots. Such privately owned vacant lots that remain idle remain an
eyesore to the community and the desire is to activate the properties for the public good until at such time
that the lots are developed.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
That the Parks Commission receive and provide feedback on temporary use of private vacant properties for
a community garden.
