RRA - Item 3A - Award of Contract to Replace Two Pool Heaters at Rosemead Pool
ROSEMEAD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY R. R- .A 8638 VALLEY BLVD..ROSEMEAD,CA 91770•(818)286-6671 •Telecopier 6163079218 TO: FRANK G. TRTPEPI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FROM: MICHAEL D. BURBANK, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATIO DATE: AUGUST 4, 1999 RE: AWARD OF CON PACT TO REPLACE TWO POOL HEA1 ERS AT ROSEMEAD POOL Bids were opened on Wednesday, August 4, 1999, to replace two Pool Heaters at Rosemead Pool with the following bid results: 1. Trans-Therm, Inc. S 47,883.00 2. 4-Con Engineering 5 59,833.00 3. California Commercial Pool 5 66,982.00 The bids came in higher than expected as staff budgeted 5 40,000.00 for this project. It is requested that the Aeency fund the difference, S 8,000.00, from it's unappropriated reserves for a total project cost of $48,000.00. Currently, staff is working with the Southern California Gas Company in a Rebate Program for the heaters in which we may get a rebate check from them in the amount of between 5 3,000.00 - S 5,000.00 since the new heaters fall within their efficiency standards. Therefore, the over additional cost to the Agency will be reduced by that amount. Attached for review is the Contractor's Bid Proposal Form Bid Bond and Contractor's Qualification Statement. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the project be awarded to the low bidder, and that the Agency allocate an additional S 8,000.00 to provide for the Installation of the Pool Heaters. hAGENCi v 19°9Y AGENDA 07-n-66s doz/sb a,( , ub ITEM No. S BID PROPOSAL FORM City of Rosemead 8838 East Valley Boulevard Rosemead, California 91770 I have received the documents tided: Notice Inviting Bids, Instrjction to Bidders, Drawings/Specifications, Sub-Contractor's List, Contractor's Qualification Statement and Bid Proposal Form and Addendum a & m I have satisfied myself as to the Scope of Work and the condition of the sites.
