CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ON
SEPTEMBER 17, 1787
Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 99-39
IV. CONSENT CALENDAR-RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
C-A ACCEPTANCE OF WORK FOR STREET RESURFACING, STREET
LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS, AND HANDICAP ACCESS RAMP
PROGRAM ON VARIOUS STREETS —FISCAL YEAR 1998/99
Street resurfacing, street lighting improvements, and handicap access ramps on various
City streets have been constructed in conformance with the approved plans and
specifications.
Recommendation: Accept the project, authorize recordation of the Notice of

l;Q C APPROVAL OF FIRST ADDENDUM TO 1999 ENGINEERING AND
/•// TRAFFIC SURVEY—VALLEY BOULEVARD
Last January the Council adopted the"Citywide Engineering and Traffic Survey."
Because of the Valley Boulevard reconstruction project, three streets—Valley
Boulevard,Mission Drive and De Adalena Street—were not surveyed at that time.
Upon completion, staff began surveying Valley Boulevard in mid-July. Mission Drive
And De Adalena Street will be surveyed next month to take into account normal school
traffic on those streets
Recommendation: Approve the Valley Boulevard addendum to the"1999 Engineering
' and/Traffic Survey."

I C-D RENEWAL OF AGREEMENT— STREET TREE MAINTENANCE
The contractor would like to continue as the City's streeet tree contractor for another year
without an increase in fees.
Recommendation: Approve the Extension of Agreement and authorize its execution by
the Mayor.
V. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTION
A SELECTION OF TREE SPECIE FOR STREET TREES ON VALLEY
BOULEVARD
The majority of the Sweet Shade trees that were being contract grown for planting on
Valley Boulevard in spring 2000 have died at the nursery. Due to the extreme lack of
available Sweet Shade trees, a different parkway tree specie must be selected.
