11 PUBLIC HEARINGS—EXPLANATION OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
PROCEDURES BY THE CITY ATTORNEY
A. PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER CITIZEN'S OPTION FOR PUBLIC
SAFETY(COPS)FUNDS
A Public Hearing to consider utilizing Citizen's Option for Public Safety(COPS) funds
for the purchase of a computer upgrade and program for Rosemead deputies; on-board
camera equipment for all patrol vehicles used in Rosemead; and purchase of a vehicle
and equipment to deal more effectively with oversized vehicles and semi-trucks parked in
the City.
Recommendation: The Council conduct the public hearing, allocate the necessary
Citizen's Option for Public Safety (COPS)Funds from unappropriated reserves and
approve the law enforcement equipment purchase outlined in the staff report for FY
1999/2000.

IV. CONSENT CALENDAR-RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
CC-A AUTHORIZATION TO REJECT CLAIM AGAINST CITY—JOHN L.
KYBORZ
Claimant was involved in a motor vehicle accident at Temple City and Valley
Boulevards. The City's claims adjusters, Carl Warren & Company, recommend rejection
of this claim.
Recommendation: Rejection of claim.
CC-B AUTHORIZATION TO REJECT CLAIM AGAINST CITY-ELIZABETH
KAB.ANY BY MARY ACOSTA, PARENT
Claimant's daughter was playing on the monkey bars at Sally Tanner Park when she
missed a bar and fell to the ground, fracturing her wrist. The City's claims adjuster, Carl
Warren& Company, recommend rejection of this claim.
Recommendation: Rejection of claim.
CC-C REQUEST FOR LARGE BOTTS DOTS ON TEMPLE CITY BOULEVARD AT
OLNEY STREET
A request by Traffic Commissioner Ruiz to review the intersection of Temple City
Boulevard at Olney Street. There is concern that southbound traffic on Temple City
Boulevard is not following the existing traffic controls. After review of the accident
history and traffic counts for this site, staff does not recommend the installation of large
botts dots in an"island" area. Staff is recommending the installation of flexible
delineators on the"island" area of this intersection.
Recommendation: Approve the installation of flexible delineators on the"island" area
of Temple City Boulevard and Olney Street.
