Minutes of December 30, 1968
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Rosemead was held in the Council Chambers, 8838:East Valley
Boulevard. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Whiddon
at 7:32 o'clock a.m.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Having no objections, Mayor Whiddon dispensed with the Pledge
of Allegiance and the Invocation.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmen: Andersen, Maude, Pike, Taylor, Whiddon.
Absent: Councilmen: None.
Ex officio: Koopmans.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: DECEMBER 10, 1968 - REGULAR MEETING.
Councilman Taylor corrected the last line of 18.A from "holding"
to "paying for".
It was moved by Councilman Pike, second by Councilman-Maude, and
unanimously carried that the minutes of December 10, 1968 be
approved as corrected.
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE.
None.

6. ORDINANCE NO. 251. CHANGE OF ZONE. CHANGE CASE NO. 34
SECOND READING.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD CHANGING THE ZONE OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM ZONE A-1 TO C-3-D AND AMENDING THE
MUNICIPAL CODE.
Mayor Whiddon read this ordinance by title only.
It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Taylor,
that further reading be waived.
Roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Councilmen: Andersen, Maude, Pike, Taylor, Whiddon.
NOES: Councilmen: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen: None.
It was moved by Councilman Andersen, second by Councilman Maude,
that Ordinance No. 251 be adopted.

City Attorney Watson arrived at this time.

7. RESOLUTION NO. 68-110. CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ALLOWING
CERTAIN CLAIMS AND DEMANDS IN THE SUM OF $149,900.43 DEMANDS
NUMBERS 6322-6376 and 6379.

City Attorney Watson presented this resolution by title only.
It was moved by Councilman Pike, second by Councilman Andersen,
that further reading be waived-and Resolution 68-110 be adopted.

NOES: Councilman: None.
ABSENT: Councilman: None.
COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS

Councilman Maude suggested that the Council consider the
possibility of contracting with a private company instead of
the Los Angeles County Road Department,
Councilman Maude commented that all newspaper releases made by
i the staff must be cleared through the City ,Administrator.
Councilman Maude commented about the extention of the boundaries
of annexations: Mayor Whiddon ordered this matter referred to
the next meeting.
It was moved by Councilman Pike, second by Councilman Maude,
and unanimously carried; that the meeting adjourn. Meeting
adjourned at 7:51 o'clock a.m.

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rosemead
. to be held in the Council Chambers, 8838 East Valley Boulevard,
was adjourned to 7:30 o'clock A.M. on December 30, 1968 by
City Clerk Farrell due to lack of a quorum. Meeting was adjourned
at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
