TRIPEPI, CITY MANAGER DATE: OCTOBER 5, 1999 RE: REQUEST TO NAME ALLEY NEXT TO 2511 WALNUT GROVE "ANDY PACHECO COURT" Attached for your consideration is a petition requesting that the City Council name the alley adjacent to 2511 Walnut Grove Avenue"Andy Pacheco Court". RECOMMENDATION If the Council is in favor of the request, it is recommended that staff be directed to take the appropriate action. ' Dear Mc Bruesch: We would like to thank all of the city council members for approving the $25,000.00 reward. We hope this will help bring the fugitive to justice. We are writing to you to request that you consider naming the alley by the 2511 Walnut Grove home in honor of our friend, Andy.Pacheco. Andy was loved by all of this peers and teachers and was a model student. He was polite, respectful, courteous, and responsible. He was also a great athlete. He loved playing basketball after school and on the weekends. He also played for the Rosemead Rebels and was recently going to begin playing for the San Gabriel High School football team. We think that naming the alley "Andy Pacheco Court" would be perfect, since it was his daily path to school and the basketball court. Everyone knew him and will remember him. Let's allow his memory to live on by honoring him in this special way. We look forward to your positive response and can't wait to unveil the sign.
