AND MEMBERS
ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL
FROM: FRANK G. TRIPEPI,CITY MANAGER
DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 1999
RE: EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION POLICY
In the past the City had an unwritten policy of recognizing years of service at the annual
City Christmas and Employee Recognition Banquet Due to budget constraints at that
time,December 1990 was the last event In place of the banquet, the City has held a
catered luncheon in the City Hall conference room during the holidays. This event
continues to receive favorable comments from the employees.
After reviewing our records in regards to past practice, staff is making the following
recommendation:
10 Years City Plaque
15 Years Clock Radio
20 Years Watch
25 Years 3-Day Cruise for two w\$200 for expenses
In the past, the City Council has approved a 3-day cruise for two, with expenses, for several
employees who reached their 25th anniversary. If the Council approves this policy,it will
be included as a line item in future budgets. The eligible employees will be recognized at
the annual holiday luncheon.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended at the City Council approve, with any amendments, the aforementioned
as the City Employee Recognition Policy, and appropriate the necessary funds from
appropriated reserves.
