MARCH 9,2018
The special meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to order by Mayor Low at 16:03
p.m. in the Rosemead City Council Chamber located at 8838 Fast Valley Boulevard, Rosemead,
California.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Council Member Armenta
INVOCATION was led by Council Member Clark
PRESENT: Mayor Low, Mayor Pro Tern Ly, Council Members, Armenta and Clark
ABSENT: Council Member Alarcon
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Molleda and Deputy City Clerk Hemandez
1. PUBLIC COMMENT - None
2. MATTERS FROM MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL
A. Direction on Councilmember Alarcon's Absence
Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council discuss and provide
direction to staff.
City Manager Molleda reported that Councilmember William Alarcon's excused
absence from council meetings expired on February 27,2018 and staff was seeking
direction.
Mayor Pro Tem Ly suggested to grant a 90 day extension to Councilmember
William Alarcon's absence from council meetings.
Mayor Low stated eventually the Council would start looking into filling the seat.
Council Member Armenta agreed with Mayor Pro Tem Ly in granting a 90 day
extension for Council Member Alarcon to be absent from council meetings. She
stated the council is a cohesive council and there is usually a 4-0 vote.
City Manager Molleda added the Council may bring back the item for discussion
at any given time shall circumstances change. She stated a resolution would be
brought before the City Council at their March 27th meeting to grant the extension.

3. CLOSED SESSION
The City Council will meet in Closed Session to discuss the following item:
A. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT:
Government Code Section: 54957
Title: City Clerk
Mayor Low recessed the meeting to closed session at 6:08 p.m. and reconvened
back to open session at 7:03 p.m.
City Manager Molleda report out that the City Clerk discussion would be brought
back to the March 27th meeting. She noted the City Council appointed Ericka
Hemandez as the Acting City Clerk from March 24th to March 276.
4. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m. The next regular City Council meeting is scheduled to
take place on March 27, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosemead City Hall Council Chamber.
