Minutes of January 30, 1968
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Rosemead was held in the City Hall offices, 3018
Charlotte Avenue. The meeting was called to order by
Mayor Andersen at 7:09 o'clock p.m.

Present: Councilmen: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey,
Whiddon.
Absent: Councilmen: Maude.
Ex officio: Armstrong, Farrell, Joehnck, Street.
Formalities were dispensed with.
RESOLUTION NO. 68-11. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 9TH DAY OF
APRIL, 1968, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF
SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES.
Mayor Andersen presented this resolution by title only.
It was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman
Jackman, and unanimously carried, that Resolution No.
68-11 be adopted.
City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that the
Gas Company had checked the boilers at Rosemead Pool and
adjusted the burners and there is no danger in continued
use.
• Park and Recreation Director Laudenslayer advised the
Council that plans have been completed for the Mission-
Delta Park restrooms and estimates from two local
contractors indicated the project could be completed
within the budget.
It was moved by Councilman Whiddon, second by Councilman
Lowrey, and unanimously carried, that the Council authorize
advertising for bids for the Mission-Delta Park restrooms.
City Administrator Farrell presented the following bids

Following comparison of the alternate chair bid by Miller
Desk and the chair called for in the specs, it was moved
by Councilman Whiddon, second by.Councilman Lowrey, and
unanimously carried that the contract for Section C be
awarded to Western Office Supply.

the alternate chair submitted without arm padding.
It was moved by Councilman Whiddon, second by Councilman

Following considerable discussion of the yardage discrepancies
between bidder number 1 and number 2 and the problems
which would be created should there be a shortage, it was
moved by Councilman Whiddon, second by Councilman Lowrey,
and unanimously carried, that the Council find that
Howards Rug was the lowest responsible bidder, and the
contract for Section I be awarded to Howards Rug.
It was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman
Whiddon, and unanimously carried, that the meeting adjourn.
Meeting adjourned at 7:38 o'clock p.m.
