A "Please Letter" was mailed to the property owner on June 10, 1998. Inspection on July 7, 1998 revealed no progress. The Building Official declared the property substandard and filed a Declaration of Substandard Property with the Los Angeles County Recorder's office. A "Fifteen Day" certified letter was mailed and posted on the property on July 15, 1998, requesting abatement of the substandard conditions. Mr. Peters, the owner, obtained a "Repair per Rehab" permit on August 3, 1998, however, follow-up inspections on September 1, September 22, and October 22, 1998 showed no improvement at the property. A Notice of Hearing was mailed and posted on the property on November 12, 1998. All interested parties have been notified. CITY BUILDING OFFICIALS RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Board find the property substandard and order all substandard conditions be removed and/or corrected by January 4, 1999. However, if significant progress is achieved by January 4, 1999, the abatement date may be extended to February 1, 1999.
